Why create a successful online business?

In our culture today, wealth has almost become a forbidden word. Many people will certainly challenge your purpose for creating wealth. They often target the selfish rich as their frame of reference. Frequently they sneer at the wealthy implying that one could only become rich by taking advantage of others, "clawing their way to the top." Haven't you heard people talk about "dirty money" or saying that "money is the root of all evil"? Do you have the right to become rich? Should anyone prevent others from fulfilling their life chances? If you believe in a world with limited resources, this perspective makes sense. But this perspective is based on scarcity thinking and remember "what you think about you bring about." The belief that building wealth causes others to be dispossessed is faulty thinking.

However, if you believe in unlimited resources, you know that no matter what you possess, there will always be enough for others. Your wealth can truly motivate and enhance others. Your success can be an example for others. What about the belief that the only way to become wealthy is by mistreating others? It is true that some people amass their fortune by oppressing others. In such cases the logical question is: Are they are truly rich? They may have financial wealth, but are spiritually poor.

A truly wealthy person is rich in body, mind and soul. They are whole. They build other people up. Zig Ziglar concisely said, "You can only get what you want, if you help enough other people get what they want." So why create wealth? Why aspire to be rich? Wallace Wattles, in the "Science of Getting Rich" wrote,

"The person who owns all he wants for the living of all the life he is capable of living is rich, and no person who has not plenty of money can have all he wants. Life has advance so far and become so complex that even the most ordinary man or woman requires a great amount of wealth in order to live in a manner that even approaches completeness. Every person naturally wants to become all that they are capable of becoming."

I am amazed by this statement when I realize that Mr. Wattles wrote this book in the early 1900's. He knew that we can never be all that we were meant to be until we create the wealth to live our destiny. The need varies from person to person. What I consider sufficient wealth to fulfill my dreams will be different from yours.

When you are rich you can help more people. Consider Melinda and Bill Gates: their foundation provides computers to schools around the world. Recently in Toronto, Sun Life Financial distributed free Museum and Arts passes to people with financial needs through the Toronto Public Library. Think of all the families who will expose their children to the arts because of this company's generosity.

So as you are building your online business, consider who will benefit from your success. Who have you wanted to help, but up until now, didn't have the funds? To which charity do you want to give a donation? Have you dreamed of creating a foundation? Make a list of the individuals or charities that will benefit from your business success. Visualize yourself writing the cheque to the organization or the individual. Hold the image of the celebration when your foundation is created. Then the next time you face challenges in your business, pull out the list. Read it. Experience the emotions. WOW!!

Hold the vision of the phenomenal outcome of your business. Concentrate on the positive. Maximize the momentum as your energy shifts. Take the limits off. Your successful online business now soars to the zenith of your aspiration.
